Define acceptance for each phase of a healthcare rollout

A phased rollout may place equipment in some rooms while other areas are still being prepared.

A phased rollout may place equipment in some rooms while other areas are still being prepared. Acceptance should reflect those boundaries. A single whole-project sign-off can be confusing if the operating team needs to support the first completed phase before the final one is ready.

Identify the phase deliverables

List the equipment, locations and supporting records included in each phase. Ask the accepting owners to define the applicable checks and any shared dependencies. If several phases rely on one system component, record how that dependency affects acceptance. Keep installed work separate from accepted functionality when a required check is still pending.

Prepare support for the released phase

Provide the receiving team with the relevant inventory, references and contact route for the scope actually handed over. Assign any remaining exceptions explicitly. When the next phase introduces an approved change, review whether it affects previously accepted work. Preserve the phase records so the final closeout can show how the whole project was assembled from specific reviewed deliverables. Index the phase acceptance records together so the final package remains easy to navigate.

Practical takeaway

Give each phase a clear equipment list, acceptance boundary and support handoff. Partial delivery should be understandable to the people operating it.
