Keep device accessories with the installation plan

An equipment shipment is not necessarily an installation kit.

An equipment shipment is not necessarily an installation kit. Mounting parts, approved accessories, cables and documentation may arrive from different sources. Tracking the main device alone can leave a team at the site with a complete delivery record and an incomplete installation.

Create a model-specific packing check

Use the approved equipment order and manufacturer documentation to identify what is needed for the planned setup. Separate supplied items from facility-provided items. Record the owner of anything still missing and distinguish an approved substitution from an informal suggestion. Do not assume two accessories are interchangeable because they look similar or have the same connector.

Keep kits traceable during staging

Assign each kit to its destination or device identifier, especially when several similar rooms are being prepared. Record items removed for inspection and where they are returned. Before release to the installation team, check the kit against the latest approved configuration. A late change to a mount or workstation position should trigger a new review of the associated parts, not just an update to the drawing.

Practical takeaway

Build the installation kit list alongside the equipment order, then check it again before the equipment leaves staging.
